Delete Your Account

Citizen’s Daily Brief is published by Stalefish Labs, LLC. If you have signed in to CDB, this page explains how to delete your account and what happens to your data.

Do You Have an Account?

You only have a CDB account if you signed in at some point — with Apple on iOS or the web, or with Google on Android. Reading the Daily Brief, Weekly Assessment, and FICINT does not require an account, and does not create one.

If you never signed in, there is nothing to delete on our side. You can clear locally stored reading preferences by deleting the app or clearing your browser’s site data for citizensdailybrief.org.

How to Delete Your Account

From the iOS or Android app

1. Open the app.
2. Tap the gear icon in the top-right to open Settings.
3. Under the Account section, tap Delete account.
4. Confirm when prompted. The deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

From the web

1. Go to citizensdailybrief.org/account and sign in with the same Apple or Google identity you used in the app.
2. Choose Delete account and confirm.

By email

If you cannot access the app or the web account page, email support@stalefishlabs.com from the address associated with your CDB account. Include a note that you want your CDB account deleted. We aim to complete the deletion within seven days of receiving the request.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete your CDB account, the following is removed:

• Your account record (Apple or Google identifier, display name, email address)
• Your supporter status, if any
• The analytics identifier associated with your account
• Any registered push notification tokens tied to your account (you will stop receiving CDB notifications on that device)

What Is Kept, and For How Long

• Anonymized analytics events collected while you had consented to analytics may be retained in aggregated form for up to 12 months, as described in our privacy policy. These events are not linked to your identity after your account is deleted.
• Payment records for supporter contributions are processed and held by Stripe (web) subject to their own retention policy and applicable tax and financial-record obligations. CDB does not store payment method details.

Signing In Again

If you sign in again after deleting your account — even with the same Apple or Google identity — a fresh account is created. It will not be linked to any prior account, supporter history, or preferences.

Requesting Partial Data Deletion

If you want to delete only some of the data associated with your account without deleting the account itself — for example, removing your analytics identifier while keeping supporter status — email support@stalefishlabs.com with the specifics of what you want removed.
